A Home Around a Pool
Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan
Interior Renovation, Built
30,000 Sq. Ft.
This home is for a ceramist and a painter. The couple wished to have spaces in which they could each create their art in a specific and solitary way. As a design strategy, the home is divided into a studio and living unit. A screened courtyard in the middle allows for ample light and cross ventilation. It serves as an interstitial space that separates but also connects the two sections of the home.
Happy Threads

Happy Threads creates an evolving range of beautifully handcrafted products, primarily for women and children.
We wanted to create a simple yet dynamic display module which reflects the softness and love with which this work is done. The modules make use of rope as a structural material, showcasing the strength of a simple loop of thread, while allowing us to create a sinuous playful form for the display units. The floating forms allow for easy movement through limited space, while letting the products get good real estate without becoming overcrowded. The peg walls allow for a multipurpose display, as well as add texture to the space.
